A New Low Melting-Point Polymorph of Fenofibrate Prepared via Talc Induced Heterogeneous Nucleation

This study describes a heterogeneous crystallization method by adding talc to obtain a new fenofibrate polymorph, form III. This work highlights the importance of testing excipient effects on drug polymorphism, as a new, metastable form could be formed through interaction with a well-known, chemically inert excipient.
