Abstract The study discusses the synthesis of polymer-silica composites comprising water soluble drug (ibuprofen sodium, IBS). Superabsorbent polymers fabricated via grafting polymerization of acrylic acid from chitosan (CTS) yields materials that suffer from poor mechanical strength.
