Abstract The aim of the presented research was the preparation and in vitro and in vivo evaluation of mucoadhesive oral films containing nystatin. Multivariate data analysis was used to evaluate an innovative approach, in which a combination of different mucoadhesive polymers was employed. The purpose of this was to assess the effects of such a combination on non-woven insoluble carmellose textile as a drug-release modifier in the structure of the film. It was observed that the mucoadhesive...

Highlights Hollow mesoporous silica was synthesized using hard template phenolic resin nanoparticles with the aid of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), which was simple and inexpensive. Hollow mesoporous silica preformed as a high drug loading carrier for regulation insoluble drug release, which can achieve sustained release. The difference between normal mesoporous silica (NMS) and HMS in drug loading efficiency, drug release behavior and solid state were also studied systematically. More

This study explored the effect of nano-crystalline cellulose (NCC) on Meloxicam (MX) solid dispersion (SD) prepared by co-grinding technique compared to micro-crystalline cellulose (MCC) in presence of lactose. MX-tablets were prepared by direct compression of different co-ground SDs or physical mixtures. The solubility, dissolution, SEM and DSC of different preparations were studied. Flow-through cell apparatus (FTC) was used to study the dissolution of MX from tablets at pH 7.4. Generally,...
