Abstract In this work the nucleation of different polymorphs of isonicotinamide (INA) from different solvents has been studied. The metastable zone width of INA in cooling crystallization from five different solvents has been investigated and attempts have been made to reveal the link between the INA molecular self-association to the polymorphism of the nucleated crystals using ATR FT-IR (Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Infrared) and Raman spectroscopy. Raman and IR spectra of...

The present research is focused on developing a novel, scaled-down approach based on the liquid droplet-powder bed interactions for the estimation of an optimal liquid to solid ratio (L/S) required in the twin screw wet granulation. A single droplet ‘powder-bed-nucleation’ process using compacted powder beds of α-lactose monohydrate (soluble) and microcrystalline cellulose (insoluble, swells upon water addition) with varying proportions of hydroxypropyl cellulose, was used to produce wet...

Objective of this work was to understand the mechanism of formation of celecoxib nanocrystals in celecoxib: mannitol nanocrystalline solid dispersion (NSD). Solution of celecoxib and mannitol was spray dried in 1:1 (g:g) proportion to obtain NSD, with average crystallite size of 214.07 ± 45.27 nm. Solubility parameters of celecoxib and mannitol were 23.1 MPa1/2 and 38.5 MPa1/2, respectively, hinting their immiscibility. More
