An amphiphilic chitosan salt, chitosan oleate (CS-OA), was previously proposed for the physical stabilization of lemongrass antimicrobial nanoemulsions (NE) through a mild spontaneous emulsification process. As both chitosan and oleic acid are described in the literature for their positive effects in wound healing, in the present study CS-OA has been proposed to encapsulate alpha tocopherol (αTph) in NEs aimed to skin wounds.

Erythromycin loaded nanoemulsion is an efficient system for H. pylori treatment. The nanodispersion improved the stability of erythromycin in an acidic medium. The encapsulation process did not alter the inhibitory activity of erythromycin. The lipid-based excipients were shown to have a complementary effect.

Zolmitriptan (ZT) is a well-tolerated drug in migraine treatment suffering from low bioavailability due to low amount of the drug that reaches the brain after oral and nasal delivery.

Nano emulsions are suitable to entrap lipophilic active ingredients. Nanoemulsions may enhance the stability and functional properties of entrapped substances. Edible coatings prepared from nanoemulsions present outstanding properties. Nanoemulsion-based coatings have prolonged the shelf life of food products.

The formulate-ability of six model active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), with different physico-chemical profiles, in a nanoemulsion designed to be intraveinously administrable was explored. Nanoemulsions were spontaneously generated at room temperature by pouring a phosphate buffer in an anhydrous mixture containing pharmaceutically acceptable triglycerides and non-ionic surfactants. Acute lung injury (ALI) is a severe disease, leading to death if not treated quickly. An emergency medicine is necessary for ALI therapy. Dimethyl silicone (DMS) is an effective agent to defoam the bubbles in the lung induced by ALI. However, DMS aerosols, a marketed formulation of DMS, affect environments and will be limited in the future. More

There is lot of confusion in the literatures regarding the method of production of nanoemulsion. According to some authors, only the methods using high energy like high-pressure microfluidizer or high-frequency ultra-sonic devices can produce actual nanoemulsions. In contrast to this concept, one research group reported for the first time the preparation of nanoemulsion by a low-energy method. Later on many authors reported about the low-energy emulsification method. More
