Minimally-porous solid and cellular dosage forms at various weight fractions of PEG excipient and Acetaminophen drug have been prepared and tested for drug release. The disintegration rate of the surface-eroding solid forms is affected by the drug weight fraction, but that of the exfoliating cellular forms is not. Models are developed to elucidate the effect of the drug weight fraction on disintegration and drug release by the solid and cellular dosage forms.
