Access to high-throughput synthesis and screening technologies has enabled the discovery of novel classes of small molecules that exhibit high potency. Unfortunately, many of these compounds suffer from poor solubility and bioavailability when administered in conventional solid-dosage forms, the preferred route of administration due to convenience and ease of use.
